SIX people were hurt when a coach was involved in a crash in Freshwater this afternoon (Wednesday). Emergency services, including firefighters, were called to the scene at Hill Lane, Norton, at around 3.35pm after the coach was involved in a head-on collision with a Rover car. The elderly woman driver of the car was trapped for 30 minutes before being freed from the vehicle. Both she and her elderly male passenger were injured. The coach passengers who were hurt were treated for minor injuries. The coach, which was from Yorkshire, was taking holidaymakers back to Shanklin after a day out in Freshwater. The road was closed between Colwell Road and Pixley Hill.

also been nasty crash along between shalfleet and forest rd (by the tree tunnel) was an up turned car..... 3 fire engins, 2 ambulances and lots of coppers on the scene
